OK…WELL THIS CERTAINLY IS A VERY HOT TOPIC TODAY

I first want to say the reason I chose to use the TODAY show report, is because I feel Amy Robach and Matt Lauer did the best job covering this story. They not only interviewed both parties involved in this controversy, but they also show how Miss California’s (Carrie Prejean) comments were THE SAME USED BY BARACK OBAMA WHEN HE RAN FOR PRESIDENT. I only say this as a response to what Perez Hilton is saying about Miss California and the Miss USA Pageant, NOT in any way comparing Miss USA with being the President.

Now, having said all that, when you watch the video, you will get the full story about Miss California’s comments about GAY MARRIAGE when asked by Perez Hilton, who was a judge at the Pageant.

When I thought about this, I was thinking to myself, well, maybe I won’t comment on how I feel about this because I may anger some people, but then I thought, you know what, I would hope that people wouldn’t react with such ANGER like Perez Hilton did.

Do people have the right to have their own thoughts and beliefs..YES. Do I feel that both Perez and Miss California have the right to DISAGREE..YES. Do I feel Perez should be attacking Miss California the way he did..ABSOLUTELY NOT. Do I respect Perez’s beliefs on gay marriage…YES. Do I respect Miss California’s beliefs on gay marriage…YES.

She stuck to her beliefs and still stands proud, without having to attack Perez Hilton. She did say she was not trying to offend anyone, she simply answered the question TRUTHFULLY. She did not answer the question the way Perez thought it should be answered, but that does not make her “stupid B****”, it just means she disagrees with Perez, that is it. How would this have turned out if every contestant was asked the same question?

Bottom line, I would like to see Perez Hilton apologize to Miss California for the way he attacked her. She did not attack him for asking the question, she handled it with GRACE and with TRUTH. It just goes to show that some people have so much anger in them when people do not agree with their beliefs, but it is the way YOUR REACT to those who disagree with your thoughts, it’s not really about what you are disagreeing on….it’s taking responsibility in your actions and finding a happy medium and respecting that we are different, and we do live in AMERICA, where we are FREE TO DISAGREE.
